Welcome to the online course, Sight Reading 101. Having the ability to read music will open countless opportunities for you in furthering your education and to continue to grow to be the best guitar player you can be. Being able to read music will also help qualify you for a lot of paying gigs out there. Learn to read music and give yourself a huge boost in your abilities as a musician and guitarist.
You, the student, are allowed access into this classroom to go through the entire class at your own pace. Pace yourself and cover all the material.
I'd recommended that you print out the entire course, as you go along, to have as a text book for later.
To get the most from this course, follow the order of the lessons listed on the Course Directory. At the end of each lesson is a button that will guide you to the next lesson. When you log out from the course, make a note of where you left off. Then when you log back in, go to the Course Directory and go back to where you left off.
There are a lot of exercises in this course. Go through them as many times as you can. This will help you get a solid understanding of this material. Repetition is one of the best ways to learn.
Course Map
This is a fully interactive course, set up to guide you smoothly through each part of the class in a way that will help you benefit the most from the information and exercises. However; if at any time you want to go to any other section of the course, there is a Course Map located at the bottom of every page to take you to any major part of the course.
Browser
Your browser must be able to support javascript. Don't worry, this is fairly common. Set your window size to approximately six inches. This course is designed to function best in window that is six inches wide.
Printer
It would be possible to do all the exercises in this online course without a printer, but being able to print out exercises and text will allow you to get the most out of this course.
Sound
There are exercises in this course that will require you to be able to hear the sound files. The better your computer's sound is, the better the MIDI files will sound.
Plug-Ins
The only plug-in you will need for this course is Crescendo to play the pro audio MIDI files. If you don't have Crescendo, you can download it for free here:
